Experts, researchers and professionals from the Andalusian aeronautical and aerospace sector met last 27 January at the 2nd Seminar on Aerospace Technology organised by the Advanced Centre for Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), which involved the collaboration of the Hélice Foundation and the Andalusian Aerospace Technology Park, Aeropolis.

On this occasion the conference focused on “Future Aerial Navigation Systems” and included presentations by Antonio Nogueras from the company Eurocontrol, who presented the topic “Security in European Air Space”; and Nicolás Suárez from CRIDA (ATM R&D+innovation Reference Centre), an entity associated with AENA, who analysed the "Platforms for Validation of the Future ATM System in Europe (SESAR)".

This activity held at the Aeropolis Business Centre was presented by the Chairman of the Hélice Foundation and Director-General of CATEC, Juan Pedro Vela, and the Director of the Hélice Foundation Manuel Cruz. The scientific director of CATEC, Professor Aníbal Ollero, acted as moderator during the conference.

This seminar, which had its beginnings in late 2009, seeks to foster interchange of knowledge in important technological fields related with the aeronautical and aerospace sector in Andalusia, such as future aerial navigation systems and unmanned aerial vehicles.
